Charitable Causes & Voting

Scope: Employee corporate-giving portal

Purpose

Provide a decision workspace where employees can compare causes and vote.

Who this is for

Employees in active corporate-giving voting periods and guest viewers.

Prerequisites

  • Employee mode for voting actions, or guest mode for read-only browsing.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open Charitable Causes

Go to Causes from the employee navigation.

2. Read the period banner

  • Active period: banner shows voting end date.
  • Upcoming period: banner can show next start date.
  • Guest mode or no relevant period: banner may be hidden.

3. Browse and filter visually

Use campaign cards to compare cause name, short description, and image.

4. Vote from card or details page

Use the heart action on cards or vote button in details view.

5. Handle max-vote cases

If vote limit is reached, new selections can be routed to pending votes in My Votes.

6. Share your votes

  • After voting on a cause, a share icon appears on the selected campaign card. Tap it to share that individual vote on social media.
  • When all votes are cast (max votes reached), a share dialog appears automatically so you can share all your selections at once.
  • Social share previews include the cause name and a link back to the cause details page.

What users should expect

  • Already selected causes are highlighted.
  • Cause details include NGO context and richer campaign information.
  • Social share previews display campaign names in the viewer's language (Danish or English) and link to the causes page.

Common issues and troubleshooting

  • Heart action missing: period may be inactive or you are in guest mode.
  • Vote sent to pending instead of active: you have reached your max votes for this period.

Verify success

  • Selected causes are visibly highlighted after voting.
  • Vote actions update active or pending state in My Votes.
