What Mastercard integration does
Mastercard is the payment rail that moves your donation funds from Actnation to each NGO's bank account. After a voting period closes, a payment file is generated and transmitted via a secure file transfer to Mastercard, which then distributes funds to individual NGO accounts.
This is a managed process — payment files are reviewed and approved by an Actnation platform administrator before being sent. This human sign-off is an intentional control step.
The payment pipeline step by step

| 1. Period closes | Donation records and payment amounts are calculated per NGO. |
| 2. File generation | A platform admin generates the Mastercard payment file from Actnation's admin panel. |
| 3. File transmission | The file is transmitted securely to Mastercard. |
| 4. Response | Mastercard processes the file and sends a confirmation response. |
| 5. Status update | Payment statuses in Actnation update to Completed (or Failed if there is an issue). |
| 6. Funds transferred | NGOs receive the funds in their registered bank accounts. |
Company setup requirements
Before any payments can be processed for your company:
- Mastercard setup must be completed in Company → Settings → Mastercard (or during onboarding).
- The authorized signatory must complete their email confirmation step.
- The connection status must show Active in Company → Payments.
Connection status guide
| Status | What to do |

| Active | Everything is working. No action needed. |
| Pending | Check that your signatory has received and completed the confirmation email. |
| Inactive | Return to Company → Settings → Mastercard and review the setup details. Contact support if the issue persists. |
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Status is stuck on Pending | Confirm the signatory received and completed the confirmation email. Recheck Settings. Contact support if it remains Pending after a few business days. |
| Payments are not reaching NGOs | Verify the connection is Active and that payment rows exist in Company → Payments with Completed status. |
| Payment document (PDF) will not open | Allow pop-ups and new tabs from the Actnation portal domain in your browser settings. |
