Zenegy Integration

Prerequisites: You have a Zenegy account, or you can request a connection from whoever manages your payroll.
What Zenegy integration does
When you connect Zenegy to Actnation, your employee list is kept in sync automatically — every night. New employees are added, leavers are deactivated, and any changes to names or department data are updated without any manual work from your team.
This is the recommended employee setup method for any company already using Zenegy.
How to connect Zenegy
During onboarding:
- On the Employee Setup step, select Payroll Connection.
- Choose your connection method below.
After onboarding (from Settings):
- Go to Company → Settings → Employee Setup.
- Select Payroll Connection and continue.
Connection method A — Direct connection (you manage Zenegy)
- Click Connect.
- Authorize Actnation in your Zenegy account.
- The connection is established immediately.
Connection method B — Request connection (someone else manages Zenegy)
- Click Request Connection.
- Enter the email address of the person who manages your Zenegy payroll account.
- Send the request. They receive an email and authorize the connection on their end.
Verifying the connection worked
After connecting, go to Company → Employees and confirm your employee records appear with the expected statuses.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Connection request has not been acted on | Follow up with the payroll owner who received the request email. The email may have gone to spam. |
| Employees are not appearing after connection | Wait for the nightly sync to run. If employees are still missing the next day, check search and filter settings in the Employees view. |
| Employee data looks outdated | A sync may not have run yet due to a transient issue. Actnation support can trigger a manual sync. |
