How Payroll Giving Works

Role: Employee (Payroll Giving)
Portal: Employees portal
Prerequisites: You received an invitation email from your company.

The basics

Payroll Giving lets you donate to charities directly from your monthly salary. You choose which campaigns to support and how much to give — the amount is automatically deducted each month until you change or cancel it.

Here is the process from start to finish:

  1. Your company enables Payroll Giving. You receive an invitation email with a link to the Employees portal.
  2. You complete first-time setup by accepting consent and verifying your personal email address.
  3. You browse campaigns and set up monthly donation subscriptions for the causes you want to support.
  4. Each month, your chosen amounts are deducted from your salary and transferred to the selected NGOs.
  5. You can change or cancel any subscription at any time before the monthly payroll run locks it.

Your company may offer one or both modes. If your company has Corporate Giving enabled, you will also receive separate voting invitations during active voting periods.

First-time setup

The first time you open the Employees portal from your invitation link, you are guided through a short onboarding:

  1. Open the link in your invitation email.
  2. Review and accept the consent to participate in Payroll Giving.
  3. Confirm or add your personal email address. This is used to contact you if your work email changes.
  4. Once complete, you land on the Campaigns page and can start browsing.

Verify success

After first-time setup, you can browse campaigns and set up subscriptions. Your active subscriptions appear in My Donations.
